For compounds found in the rosemary plant, they are considered to prevent the degradation of acetylcholine, a chemical that stimulates the brain cells that are responsible for memory and reasoning, to communicate with one another.

In a series of researches, essential oil from the rosemary plant in the subjects improved the memory of tasks that should have been done in the near future by as much as 60 to 70% compared to people who were not exposed to the smell of this oil. Studies suggest that the chemical compound of 1,8-cineol is responsible for an improved memory function. According to the study, the subjects breathed an extra rosemary extract before doing certain jobs, and during that time their levels of stress, mood, speed, and precision were tested. The higher the amount of 1,8-cineol absorbed into the bloodstream, there were more positive results.

Rosemary and other medical properties

Reduces stress levels. It is known, that is, that it reduces the level of cortisol – a hormone that lights when you are stressed. It also contributes to the feeling of peace and relaxation. Research has shown that, for example, nurses can tolerate extremely stressful situations at work after they inhale the smell of rosemary for some time.

Alleviates colds and flu. Thanks to anti-inflammatory properties and beneficial effects on respiratory organs, rosemary oil reduces symptoms of throat, cold or flu. Besides, alleviates allergy-related problems. A few drops of rosemary oil put into the water and let your scent expand in the room you are in. Or, pour 2-3 drops of rosemary oil into boiling water, cover your head with a towel and inhale its beneficial aroma for 15-20 minutes.

It stimulates hair growth. If you have alopecia or lose hair in some regions of the head or your hair is thinning, apply a massage of scalp with oil of rosemary. According to the study, for people who had massaged the rosemary oil for about seven months or a mixture of rosemary, cedar or thyme, hair growth, and hair improvement were observed.
